677bet darts: why exact zero matters

In a PDC 501 leg, scoring down to zero is only part of the task. The final dart must satisfy the double-finish rule of that format.

This page explains game formats and rules; it is not a playable lobby. Check the relevant service for current game availability and the exact version in use.

Darts

A topic on the cited 677bet.lat page; PDC 501 supplies the named rules example.

Esports

An event topic where a map and an entire series can have different endpoints.

Fishing

A separate target-and-shot topic, not a darts leg.

Begin with 501, subtract each visit

A PDC 501 leg begins at 501. A throw's score is deducted from the remaining total. Getting close to zero is progress but not settlement; the finish must be exact and end on a double under the stated format.

For example, with 40 remaining, hitting double 20 gives 40 and finishes the leg. Hitting single 20 leaves 20, so play continues. The same numbered wedge can therefore have a different effect depending on which ring is hit.

A bust does not produce a checkout

In the DRA double-out format, going below zero, leaving one, or reaching zero without the required double is a bust. The visit ends and its score is cancelled: the remaining total returns to what it was before that visit, not merely before the last dart.

For example, start a visit with 32 remaining. Single 12 leaves 20; then treble 8 scores 24 and causes a bust. The next visit starts from 32, not 20. By contrast, double 16 on the first dart would finish the leg exactly. These are scoring examples, not a recommended checkout route.

Know which result is being followed

A leg winner is the player who completes the required finish first. A match may require multiple legs, and a tournament's structure can add sets. A selection about a leg is not automatically a selection about the match.

The cited 677bet page also mentions esports and fishing; those have different score units. The PDC example explains darts rules only and does not identify a current 677bet darts market or any odds.

Questions about games

Can single 20 finish with 40 remaining?

No. It leaves 20. In PDC 501 double-out, double 20 scores 40 and can complete the leg.

What if 36 is scored with 32 remaining?

It exceeds the needed amount and is a bust, not an exact-zero checkout.

Does one leg win a darts match?

Only if the event's match format requires no more legs. The leg and match are distinct endpoints.
